Chengdu is the heart of Sichuan, loved for pandas, its food and its old street life. The main sights sit close to each other, so even a short trip feels full.

We run Chengdu as a small group of 2 to 8 guests. A private vehicle and a dedicated guide travel with you, and we operate with no shopping stops and no forced extras. Ask us for a quote.

Key sights

Panda Breeding Base

A research base where you can see pandas up close. They are most active in the morning, so an early visit is best.

Wuhou Shrine

A shrine honoring Zhuge Liang. Shaded courtyards and halls make for a slow, easy walk.

Jinli

An old street beside Wuhou Shrine. Lanterns and food stalls line the lane, and it is busiest in the evening.

Kuanzhai Alley

Two narrow lanes running side by side. Restored old houses now hold tea rooms and craft workshops.

Du Fu Cottage

A memorial site on the spot where the poet Du Fu once stayed. Bamboo groves and a pond keep it quiet.

Leshan Giant Buddha

A huge stone Buddha reached by road from Chengdu. It is carved into a cliff and looks out over the river.

Dujiangyan

An ancient irrigation site that still stands. Walking paths follow the river and the embankments.

Season by season

PeriodWhat to expect
March–MayMild and blooming, good for walking. Rain is frequent, so a light umbrella helps.
June–AugustHot, humid and prone to showers. Keeping midday outdoor time short makes it easier.
September–NovemberCool and clear, the most comfortable window. Ideal for outdoor sights.
December–FebruaryOften overcast and chilly, but snow is rare. Good for indoor sights and food.

Getting there

FAQ

Are there shopping stops?

We operate with no shopping stops and no forced extras. We do not include shop visits or paid add-ons.

When is the best time to see the pandas?

Pandas are most active in the morning. We schedule the visit right after opening.

Is it suitable for children?

The panda base and city sights involve short transfers, so children manage well. Strollers work fine too.

Sichuan food may be too spicy for us.

Plenty of Sichuan dishes are not spicy. Your guide adjusts restaurants and dishes to your taste.
